Nitin Shukla holds a master's degree in Physics Engineering and a PhD in Computational Plasma Physics from Instituto Superior Técnico in Lisbon, Portugal. During his doctoral studies, he gained extensive expertise in numerical methods for particle-in-cell (PIC) simulations. Right after his PhD, he joined CINECA as an HPC Scientific Application Engineer, where he leads the SPACE-COE center of excellence, focusing on GPU offloading for astrophysics and space plasma codes. Nitin specializes in parallel computing, and his current work revolves around developing algorithms to address complex challenges in both scientific and industrial domains, with a particular emphasis on using these technologies to accelerate simulations.
